Lenten Prayer for Plenary Indulgence

Hello Everyone,

A special hello to our friends in the Ukraine.  There is a sense that you as a country are preparing spiritually in a special way during this Lenten season.

Eucharistic Miracle.  St. Catherine of Siena (Italy) lived from 1347-1380.  She was graced with a particular knowledge of our Eucharistic Lord.  The soul is compared to a candle, and the Eucharist as the flame that lights the candle.  The soul can also grow as much as it wants through Divine Grace:  Http://www.therealpresence.org/eucharst/mir/english_pdf/CatherineofSiena.pdf.

Prayer Before a Crucifix.  Particularly powerful on Fridays during Lent.

Look down upon me, good and gentle Jesus, while before Your face I humbly kneel and, with burning soul, pray and beseech You to fix deep in my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope and charity, true contrition for my sins, and a firm purpose of amendment;

While I contemplate, with great love and tender pity, Your five most precious wounds, pondering over them within me and calling to mind the words which David, Your prophet, said of You, my Jesus:  "They have pierced My hands and My feet, They numbered all My bones, Amen.

"A plenary indulgence is granted on each Friday of Lent to all who pray this prayer after Communion before an image of Christ crucified; on other days of the year the indulgence is partial."

God bless you.
